Annick Bureaud is an independent art critic, curator and event organizer, researcher and teacher of art and technoscience. She is the director of Leonardo / Olats (www.olats.org), the European sister organization of Leonardo / Isast (www.leonardo.info). She is a co-founding member of the Collectif Nunc. He wrote numerous articles and contributed to the French contemporary art magazine Art Press. She is co-editor of the essay collection Connexions: art, réseaux, media (Ensba Press, 2002) and author of Les Basiques: l'art «multimédia», an introductory book on new media art (Leonardo / Olats, 2004). ).
He organized numerous symposiums, conferences and workshops including Artmedia VIII: From Communication Aesthetics to Net Art, Paris, 2002 and Visibility – Legibility of Spatial Art. Art and Zero Gravity: The Parabolic Flight Experience, a collaborative project between Leonardo / Olats and @rt Outsiders International Festival, Paris, 2003. In 2009, she was co-curator of the exhibition (Un) Inhabitable? Art of extreme environments, @rt Outsiders Festival, MEP / European House of Photography, Paris. In 2012, she curated the play Tales of a Sea Cow by Etienne de France at the PAV in Turin, Italy.
She has taught at various art schools and universities in France (Aix-en-Provence art school, Eesi – European School of Visual Arts, Poitiers) and abroad (she has been a visiting professor at the Chicago / SAIC School of Art in 1999 and At the University of Quebec in Montreal / UQAM in 2001).
