Jaime Carvajal

Experimental musician and sound artist from Medellín, Colombia. Graduated in Music with emphasis in composition from the Universidad de Antioquia (2019). His main interest is focused on the reflection and deepening of sound as a plastic and expressive material in different areas of creation, which has led him to participate in various musical, scenic, performative and audiovisual projects and collectives. From an always experimental perspective, he uses diverse materials and supports where sound expands its sensitive and conceptual possibilities. Among these we can mention radios, microphones, feedback, sound archives, field recordings and soundscapes.

He has worked with artists such as Ana María Millán, Marta Hincapié, Mauricio Maldonado, Fernando Zapata Abadía, among others. 

He has participated in group exhibitions and shows at the MAMM, Universidad de los Andes and Teatro Lido.

He has been a winner of the Ministry of Culture's stimuli (national internships, 2017), and the stimuli for art and culture of the Mayor's Office of Medellín (sounds of the mountain, 2020).
