SENSO/graphies
Open from November 17, 2025 to March 18, 2026
The International Image Festival, in its XXV edition to be held from September 11 to 18, 2026 in the cities of Bogotá and Manizales, invites the academic community of designers, artists, researchers, teachers, professionals, undergraduate and graduate students to participate in the academic and artistic calls whose central theme will be SENSO/graphies, a curatorial axis focused on the intersection between image, body and living archives, inviting the presentation of works that explore the corporeal as a territory of knowledge, memory and transformation, in a world mediated by artificial intelligence, digital media and the new ecologies of the image.
For 28 years, the Festival has been organized by the Visual Design Department of the Universidad de Caldas in Manizales and, since 2020, has been carried out in partnership with the Universidad de Bogotá Jorge Tadeo Lozano, in Colombia. To participate in the event, the following calls are open:

International Image Festival 2026
The International Academic Forum on Design and Creation invites researchers, creators, teachers and students from art, design, communication, human sciences and interactive technologies programs to participate in the 2026 Academic Call, under the conceptual axis SENSO/graphies, which proposes to reflect on sensory languages, perceptive traces and the modes of inscription of body and technology in contemporary creation.
With the purpose of strengthening the Festival’s academic community and promoting the dissemination of knowledge at the international level, the Forum continues to consolidate its editorial line through the publication of an academic edition with formal ISSN registration. This publication maintains international standards of editorial quality—public call, double-blind peer review and compliance with ethical and formal criteria for scientific publication—as part of the sustained process that the Festival develops so that its editions are recognized within academic indexes and international reference databases, such as Scopus, LATINDEX, REDALYC, or other indexing systems.

The International Image Festival invites filmmakers, animators and visual artists to participate in the ” Digital (and) Cinema” call, a space dedicated to exploring the confluence of cinema with the digital era. Works of animation, cinema, video art and micro-documentaries may participate, with a minimum duration of 1 minute and maximum of 24 minutes, that seek to explore and redefine audiovisual narratives in the contemporary context.
In an era marked by digitalization and profound changes, the question arises: How is cinema transformed in this hyperconnected context? Under the SENSO/graphies theme, we seek works that not only question their relationship with the digital world, but also explore new aesthetic horizons, innovative production models and creative forms of exhibition and research. We encourage participants to reflect on how their creations can contribute to this regenerative vision in the audiovisual field.
