      Laurent Mignonneau

      He has trained in video at the Angouleme School of Fine Arts and in Infographics at the CNBDI, France. In 1992 he was awarded a Eurocreation grant and studied at the Institute for New Media in Frankfurt. There I work as an assistant to the physicist Michael Klein investigating the visualization and simulation of complex systems. Since 1985, he has also worked on electroacoustic music and since 1987 on video art and interactive art. Christa Sommerer and Laurent Mignonneau have focused on creating artificial life within virtual universes. In his works, plants, animals and artificial forms arise from the viewer's interaction with real objects, promoting the coexistence of different levels of reality.

      ‌Christa Sommerer is an internationally renowned media artist, researcher and pioneer of interactive art. He has worked at the IAMAS Academy in Gifu (Japan), the ATR Research Laboratories in Kyoto (Japan), the MIT CAVS in Cambridge (USA) and the NCSA in Champaign Urbana (Illinois, USA). In 2004 he created, together with Laurent Mignonneau, the Department of Interface Cultures in Linz (Austria). Sommerer has been a visiting professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, Tsukuba University and Aalborg University (Denmark). Together with Laurent Mignonneau, he created some 40 works of interactive art that were shown in some 350 international exhibitions.

Apart from being the leader in programming, he is one of the founders of Immersion Games, his initial role is to lead the development of the games from the technical section, he has a perspective more of a programmer than an artist, but in any case he is aware of all the areas that involve the development of a video game.

His research focuses on the creation of installations and urban interventions that study the flow of information in shared spaces. Among his numerous works, IO_dencies stands out, a work in progress that explores new types of intervention and presence in complex urban social processes, linked to information technologies.
