Technological animal facility, "the one that everyone wants to follow"

      Still image

      M. Angelica Rodríguez Gutiérrez

Based on social networks (twitter), used massively around the world, I wanted to create the first species of a technological animal facility, based on the characteristics and qualities of the animals and, in turn, on the intrinsic characteristics of these social networks. In this case, what everyone wants to follow is the example of the functionality of twitter, directly related to the rattus species, an almost cosmopolitan species that has spread across the earth like humans, just like this network. This species is very aggressive and does not hesitate to attack other animals larger than it, twitter in some particular cases can be dangerous and devouring.

      Invisible Cities

      Video

Fabio Paolizzo - Ricardo La Barbera / Italy

Invisible Cities (Paolizzo, 2010) is a remake of Città Invisibili (La Barbera, 2007), which was freely inspired by the homonymous work of Italo Calvino. Both of them are short movies that fit under the umbrella of "remix cinema" and de-contextualize paintings by Bosch, Escher, Canaletto, Tristram and Gilbert & George, relating these to moving images from early cinema. La Barbera composed and performed the soundtrack of Città Invisibili using a mechanically prepared piano. The music of Invisible Cities is produced with experimental techniques. Paolizzo used VIVO (Video Interactive VST Orchestra), an interactive software musical instrument, to translate the motion of the images into electronic elaborations on the original soundtrack.

      Video

Laura Colmenares Guerra - Todor Todoroff / Belgium

The figures of water know their ways. I thought that destiny belonged to me, but I can only immerse myself in those labyrinths that continue to darken. Beyond the Divide leads the viewer through a visceral state of mind, like climbing a sheer rock of the human psyche.
