After a long war between brothers, a new panorama begins to be seen for Colombian citizens and the eyes of foreigners begin to see this territory and its people as something new and with great potential. This is the reason why it is necessary, now more than ever, to come together in search of forgiveness and reconciliation, feelings in which art plays a fundamental role, not only as a means of symbolic reparation and memory but also as a point reflection with a fixed look to the future.<\/p>\n<p>This year the image of ISEA2017, and the 16th International Image Festival reflect the spirit of the event: the construction of peace and bio-creation from art and technology. Colombia is a country with enormous biodiversity, which is why an illustration of the Botanical Expedition* was taken, as a representative element of nature and the delicate balance that peace requires. This look extends to the horizons where the great banks of information, represented in illustrations collected in said expedition, begin to serve as raw material for creation, integrating art and science. The electronic arts are part of the visual system through the aesthetics of glitch, the perceptible electronic error that often accounts for the human component in the machine or its ability to create its own manifestations of what could be called &quot; life&quot;. In this case, the image has been unfolded by the digital medium, manipulating its digital code to give us a look outside the spectrum of regular light and another perception of nature. Nature and technology dialogue in this image, as well as the construction of the feeling of peace; two contrasting forces seeking balance between them.<\/p>\n<p>* The Botanical Expedition (1783 \u2013 1803), carried out the inventory of nature in Colombian territory, where 20,000 plant species and 7,000 animals were classified.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the last four years, the search for peace in Colombia has gradually materialized.
