The Landscape Institute of the Catholic University of Córdoba (Argentina), together with the Latin American Landscape Initiative (LALI) —in the framework of the world month of landscape architecture (IFLA 2006 declaration)— summon professionals or amateurs to visual arts, illustration or design in all its fields, to participate in the artistic contest THE LANDSCAPE THROUGH MY WINDOW.
In this pandemic circumstance that the world is going through, it is proposed to reflect on "the landscape in the times of coronavirus" (COVID-19), through images that allow us to express the situation we are going through. The objective is to provide a space to express and share our landscapes from the condition of isolation (physical, mental, emotional), within the framework of this global health crisis, in connection with the environment in which each person lives, from a landscape perspective and with an environmental perspective.
Who is it? People of legal age and of any nationality may participate, individually and with a maximum of 2 proposals (applied separately).
As? The works will be presented in digital images of 1000 x 1000 pixels at a resolution of 150dpi. The elaboration techniques are free and the support format must be square (although the representation does not necessarily occupy the entire support). Each proposal must be accompanied by a short text that argues the work, with a maximum of 150 words (failure to comply with any of the proposed conditions will prevent participation in the contest).
Where? The works and the text must be sent through the following link: https://forms.gle/KbL7rhUY3Ma4EgMs8
The full name of the author, city and country of residence must be included. Simultaneously, the image and the text must be published on your Instagram and/or Facebook network profile, endorsing @institutodelpaisajeucc and @laliniciativa and include the #xmaslandscape (Failure to comply with any of the conditions will prevent participation in the contest).
When? You can participate throughout the month of April 2020, until 11:00 p.m. on April 30, Argentina time).
Results
A group of specialist professionals will act as a jury and select up to 50 works, up to 10 finalists and 3 winners from the total number of applications that meet the established guidelines. It is possible that the jury establishes special mentions over the selected works. The results will be announced during the month of May 2020 and the jury's decision will be final. Each selected participant and finalist will receive a digital certificate for their participation and distinction within the framework of this contest (no type of economic or material compensation will be granted). The 50 selected works will be included in the edition of a digital book, edited by the Landscape Institute together with the Latin American Landscape Initiative. The mere participation in the contest grants authorization to the organizing entities for the dissemination, in various media and supports, of the postulated works and the respective identity of authors.
