Throughout her academic career she has investigated topics such the role of non-designers skills in design processes, the relationship between design and anthropology, collaborative practices in public spaces, the past / present / future relationship in design procedures​, among others. In 2018, she was part of CODE/KADK, in Copenhagen, as a visiting scholar.

      Catalina Alzate

      Catalina Alzate (she/her) is a Colombian designer, artist and educator, currently a Teaching Associate and MFA candidate in the School of Arts, Technology and Emerging Communication (ATEC) at the University of Texas at Dallas. Her practice is rooted at the intersection of social sciences, participatory design and Feminist science and technology studies. Her professional experience has been based in Colombia and India, where she has worked in community-based technology design, feminist participatory research, art-mediated pedagogy and collective decision-making.
