    blood counts

    Soundscape

PLUG Collective (Enrique Franco, Eliana Corredor and Joaquín Llorca) / Colombia

It presents the particular relationship between Cali cinematography and vampire cinema. Why this reiterated inclination towards a tropical gothic cinema? The question is elaborated in a kind of performance that builds a meta-narrative from fragments linked thanks to technology. In this way, the wide and suggestive semantic degree of the concept "vampirism" is approached from pieces of films and sound clichés that are mixed at the moment with music and live camera. The piece seeks to transcend the mere visual game starting from a cinematography that had a meaning in the national context and that serves as a leitmotiv to structure the various proposed stories. In the same way, it traces a path back to the performative origins of the cinematograph, which in this case extends to the public who is invited to participate due to the work of technology.

    silence

    Video

    Ava Lanche / Germany

The German Silence, by Ava Lanche, is an effective denunciation against the handling of information by the media. Its title refers to the olympic silence (of the media) about the various abuses against human rights perpetrated throughout the world at the same time that these (the media) express themselves with solemn diplomacy about prolonged periods of peace that do not exist . The director lets the objects ring but not the voices, clearly criticizing the materialistic world of the present, where dehumanization is a flagrant characteristic but of little importance to humans themselves. The images of its four minutes, as the cinema demands, say much more than the long parliaments of several of the short films presented that date.
