Maria Alejandra Caicedo

Colombia

She studied photography and visual arts at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. Her work is multidisciplinary, with a concern for the body as a diverse matter in connections and mutations, a technofeminist imaginary of mythological futures; she balances between the boundaries of the sacred and the profane, the archaic, kitch, and cyborg. In recent years she has worked with her brand Lakras in different art directions for photographic and audiovisual productions, she has also been involved in acting in short films and commercials, she is part of the direction and general production of Otrus Extraviadus. 

Her video dance Teodora participated in multiple national festivals. She also participated as selected Artist of the Call for II Muestra de Video Arte Faenza 2019 where she presented her work Welcome in the context of the ArtBo Weekend and in the Fiesta de Fuedo in the Context of the XXXIV Festival del caribe in Santiago de Cuba, This 2021 she participated with Otrus Extraviadus in the virtual exhibition of New Art City Unbounded Unleshed Unforgiving: Reconsidering Cyberfeminism in 2021.

At the age of 5 I entered the Centro Educativo Fe y Alegría Garcés Navas where I studied elementary, middle and high school, I graduated from there with honors, technical in Software Programming and with a scholarship that I took advantage of to study a semester of Biomedical Engineering at the Universidad de los Andes, but after thinking about it the following semester I decided to transfer to Graphic Design at the Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano.
