Joaquin Eduardo Llorca Franco

Colombia

Joaquín Llorca is an architect and musician. D. in Theory and History of Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in Barcelona, Spain. He is an associate professor and researcher at the Department of Art, Architecture and Design of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Cali, Colombia. His research interests revolve around the construction of transdisciplinary approaches between architecture, sound environments and society.

In addition to being the author of several articles, he has developed projects for the Colombian Institute of Science and Technology, Colciencias. From 2013 to 2016 he was regional coordinator of the Annual Visual Arts Laboratory on the soundscape of the coffee cultural landscape on behalf of the Ministry of Culture.

He is currently working on a research on the soundscape in market places in Cali and Bogota.
