About the artist:
An artist based in the city of Bogota, her plastic work is traversed by an interest in rethinking the concepts of aesthetics and a deep exploration of electronic waste and its functional possibilities. Her work is composed of a series of machines built from waste circuits, motors and other technological artifacts. These elements articulate a discourse that invites us to reflect on the way in which today's society faces consumerism, waste, saturation and excessive production, both of objects and information.
Her machines interact with the viewer through sound, light or movement, offering an aesthetic experience beyond contemplation. The construction of the pieces shows Cañón's interest in vindicating the role of the artist as a generator of objects and in exploring the aesthetic value of the work of art.
