Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana – Medellín
Universidad de Bogotá Jorge Tadeo Lozano – Bogotá
The Interdoctoral Colloquium, whose second version will take place on Wednesday, May 8th, 2024 at the Universidad de Caldas in Manizales, is a biannual event held on a rotating basis in the cities of Medellin, Manizales and Bogota. This colloquium brings together professors and students from the three doctoral programs that study the field of design in Colombia (Design and Creation of Universidad de Caldas, Manizales; Studies in Design of Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, Medellín; and Design, Art and Science of Universidad Jorge Tadeo, Bogotá).
This is part of a strategy on the part of the organizing and promoting doctoral programs to consolidate a robust and permanent inter-institutional conversation that constitutes and strengthens, with international projection, a national Colombian forum of design studies. During each version, the socialization of diverse aspects of the doctoral research projects of the respective doctoral students is promoted, with a view to their historical, theoretical, applicative and critical review.
For this second occasion, the Interdoctoral Colloquium deepens and expands the achievements of the first version, which focused on design as a meeting place for doctoral theses, to focus on research stories as their own narratives that link with particular style the descriptions, interpretations, arguments, representations and proposals that make up the specific approach to the subject of each doctoral student from the social, design and technological aspects.
