Natalia Perez-Orrego (Colombia) Table C – Connectographies
This text is a manifesto and a provocation that declares activism as the creative force of interaction experience design. If the material world we construct is determined by the ways in which we conceive of our ways of acting in it, then experience design focuses on devising action as a strategy for intervention and relationship with the world.
However, modeling activist intentionality as an act of design demands bringing to the surface the political power that design possesses, not alien to the design process, but misunderstood. Therefore, this text presents a tool and a design framework to integrate and think political action as a way of designing the experience of interaction, namely: 1) Manifesto Malicioso, as a discursive tool with which the designer brings to the surface the problem or controversy of situated action, performative change and the transformative scope of the proposed action; as well as his own position and political action from what he designs. 2) Design for provocation, as a design framework that brings to the surface participation and linkage from: intellectual risk, generative contention and entailing escape.
