Los Ruidositos (Colombia)

The project Los Ruidositos, and its piece 'Cajitas Surtidas' is a sonic adventure that combines the experience of 6 musical navigators who seek, through their practice, to explore the interstices between sound and silence, rumors, whispers, screams, squeaks, rattles, roars, howls and resonances.

This is done from the construction of organic beats, calm rhythms, and dissonant patterns that go all the way to thunderous noise or gather the senses in spaces of serenity. In short, unabashed chaos and tropical flavor.

Detonating talk: "Peace and the exaltation of regional music in a pandemic"

    Jaime Monsalve (Colombia)

For RTVC-Public Media System and Radio Nacional de Colombia, the arrival of covid-19 coincided with the need to open new stations in territories ravaged by war. How to exalt the cultural values of these regions when you are confined by a pandemic? The solution was found in the creation of a music festival that remotely gave account of the development of the regional and peasant sounds of each of these places. Thanks to this endeavor, a handful of emerging artists began to take an important leap towards other scenarios, perhaps unimaginable for them at some point.

Reconstruction of the Social Fabric in post-conflict areas in Colombia

    Colombia

From the social sciences and ethnographic processes, the perspective should not only be governed by classical research methodologies, but also from other non-conventional ways of showing realities. Social research should be characterized by the integration of artistic, cultural, visual and digital processes that contribute to the construction of an interdisciplinary reflection.

Acoustic fossil: listening to climate change.

Santiago Reyes Villaveces / Daniel Villegas Velez (Colombia)

    American-Colombian center

What is -or can be- the role of listening in the academy and artistic creation in the task of understanding, conceptualizing and acting in a meaningful way in the face of the global transformations that are grouped under the terms of climate crisis or change, global warming, anthropocene and/or capitalocene? To address this question, our discussion takes as a starting point the sound installation Fósil acústico (vestibular organ), winner of the Túnel de Escape grant (Ministry of Culture, 2022).

    Francisca Parra (Chile)

As a starting point the impossibility of attending for months to the main hill of the central sector of the city of Santiago de Chile, which was closed during the most critical moment of the pandemic and that symbolizes an important and unique place for the artist, since it is one of the few landscapes with abundant nature in the city, the work consists of the creation of a virtual space that simulates a specific point of the hill, which becomes visitable through the location of this simulation on the web.

    "Banish"

    Jose Alejandro Lopez Perez (Colombia)

"Desterrar" is a video installation, a triptych, that gives voice to three Colombian victims of forced displacement, but instead of focusing on the violent acts they suffered, it concentrates on some of their routines before and after displacement, showing how their lives were and are.
