«Mezs»

Rihards Vitols (Latvia)

“The artwork “Mežs” (Forest) is a speculative look into the future of nature and relates to my growing interest in the application of AI and forests. Combining tree species data collection from different environments and StyleGans217, an ML imaging technique, the work proposes new computer generated tree species, and also tracks their habitats composing the soundscapes around them.

These new tree species could cover the Earth in the future to maintain the natural balance.
The result is a fictional collection of trees that proposes and simulates a future alteration of the planet's biodiversity, with often unimaginable, abstract and absurd results."

    "City for Necromancers"

    Luisa Maria Jaramillo Gomez (Colombia)

This sound work resonates in the warning signs of a system that determines to throw oneself into the void catalogued as an incident, but the suicidal act, of the one who throws himself into that void does not refer to a banal and passing fact, he shows us an accident, an unforeseen event that implies human losses inscribed in the structure of the current capitalist system. These sounds are edited to perceive the warning signal.
