Co-creation of the board game «La Lucha de Fierito» of the house of memory in Riosucio Caldas

Andres Felipe Villa Arias / John Sebastian Bernal Franco (Colombia) Table A – Persistences

La Lucha de Fierito is a board game co-created by members of the original colonial indigenous reservation Cañamomo Lomaprieta in the municipality of Riosucio Caldas.

The game seeks to rescue and preserve the values, customs, knowledge and traditions of the community in a playful and creative way within the framework of the process called "House of Memory". Thus, through the co-creation process, the game generates a scenario in which participants dialogue, negotiate and recurrently search for the meaning of actions and interactions from a collective and community perspective.

Finally, it is established as an educational and training process that reflects on the preservation of traditions and ancestral knowledge from the perspective of play and playfulness, inserting itself in the discussion of literacy processes with games and video games called Ludoliteracy.

The construction of peace in Colombia implies truth, reconciliation and the will of the people; not only the signing of agreements. It is essential to listen to the voices of all actors: victims, women, youth, peasants, indigenous people and, why not, those who were part of the illegal armed groups.

"Upside-Down" is a series of five photovideographic artworks that follow a similar basic rule: the photographs used are upside-down at the beginning of the video and end upside-down. But what is important is what happens between these two moments: the colors migrate upside-down and downside-up at different speeds, leaving trails in their wake.

It often seems that we have to ask permission to exist. The world does not adapt to anyone. Neither does fate. It is as if in our daily lives, shrinking to fit or stretching to reach is an uncomfortable constant.

"No one will come to rescue us"

    Juan Carlos García-Sampedro Ferrero (Spain)

Sometimes the vertigo of not knowing what awaits us confronts us with forces that are outside ourselves, but everything seems to indicate that we must have faith. Faith in whom or in whom? Faith in what? When storms, armies or meteorites advance and the only thing that inhabits us is vertigo, there is a nothingness that leaves us out in the open and the only thing left is the determination to reach the other side of the human struggle.
