The traits of pollen is a creation of Vues de l'esprit; an opening of Le sas, groupe science-art-société; a production of La métonymie, in collaboration with the ESE and BioMaps, in partnership with the CNRS and the University Paris-Saclay and the support of IDEEV.
The diversity of plants was there, long before us. Born of improbable encounters, mysterious adventures and unknown contributions, it is carried by the wind throughout the length and breadth of the Earth. They are all transported from anther to stigma, ensuring the continuity of life.
Magnified, kneaded, sculpted, heated, twenty grains of ceramic pollen are suspended in equilibrium in the air. In them is found the structural and functional richness still present in nature. Experienced in a soundscape, while the air blows and the images they capture are projected, they allow to capture a simple or complex beauty destined to the production of the living.
Thus, with their heads in the air, curious passers-by discover these grains, raw and structured in the daylight, textured and enriched at night. Each pollen grain tells a story. A self, our self.
