The Literary Society of Thuringia and the Weimar Animation Club are presenting the "Weimar Poetry Film Award" for the sixth time in a row.

A poetry film is video poetry that bases its image on a poetic or lyrical text. In this call initiated since 2016 by the Thuringian Literary Society and supported by the Thuringian Cultural Foundation and the City of Weimar, filmmakers of any age and nationality can participate with up to three short films of maximum 10 minutes each and produced as of 2018, where film and poetry are correlated in an innovative way.

Participants compete in the categories of Best Animated Poetry Film and Best Video Poetry Film with a prize of €1,200 each, plus an Audience Award of €250.

The Poetry Film Award takes place within the framework of the International Poetry Film Festival of Thuringia. Entries can be submitted via the FilmFreeway platform.
