Graduated from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile as Audiovisual Director and Bachelor in Social Communication. She worked for three years in television as a scriptwriter and project advisor, in Canal 13 and Televisión Nacional de Chile respectively. In parallel, she has worked as a documentary filmmaker within the collective MAFI (Mapa Fílmico de un País), directing and participating in artistic residencies throughout the country. In 2013 she is one of the directors of the collaborative documentary "Propaganda", premiered at Visions Du Réel. In 2017 Valeria joins the transmedia project "Volver a casa", directed by Catalina Alarcón, which allows prison inmates in Chile to connect with their families through film and virtual reality. 

In 2019 Valeria is one of the directors of the second documentary of the MAFI collective, "Dios", also premiered at Visions Du Réel and studies experimental filmmaking at the Master Lav school in Madrid where she makes several short films: Casa de Mujeres and Sin Comentarios, presented at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid. In 2020 she wins a production fund to direct the fiction short film Alien0089, produced by Mimbre y Brisa, in post production.
