She has been dedicated to intercultural research-action in performing arts, music, dance, festivities and in cultural projects for Central American integration since 1997; In addition, she is an actress and singer. Later, he specialized in cultural management and public policies at the University of Gerona, Spain. He worked in the institutional and cooperation sphere at the Ministry of Culture and Youth, the UNESCO San José Office for Central America, the Support Program for the Regional Integration of Central America in SICA and the Network of Cultural Centers of the Spanish Agency for Cooperation (AECID). Durán has been a teacher and researcher, facilitator of group processes on cultural issues. 

He is currently part of the academic body of the Virtual Postgraduate Programs in Cultural Management and Management of Cities and Creative Entrepreneurship at the University of Córdoba, Argentina in the modules "Economy and cultural development, and "Associativism and cultural management", of the virtual postgraduate programs in " Cultural Management» and «Cities and Entrepreneurship». In addition, she has been a consultant in culture and development; heritage and cultural tourism, networks and associativity; economy, cultural sustainability and management models. In addition to his training in Dramatic Arts, at the University of Costa Rica, (1983-1987, 1991), Durán has an international master's degree in Management, Cultural Policies and Development from the University of Girona, Spain (2002-2006) and is currently studying the Master (MFA) in Interactive Media, at the University of Miami.

At the level of professional training, she has been certified as an Entrepreneur Trainer, Doinglobal - Universidad de Salamanca (2013), and is a graduate of the Certification Program of the Body-Mind Centering School, Berkeley, California (1996-1999) and of the Training in Somatic Education and Movement Reeducation, Enfoque Somaryhtms, Costa Rica (1993-1995).
