Eat Rain (Edwin Velez, Jader Cartagena) / Colombia

Sonidos para Ethel, was initially commissioned by the Colombian video artist Ana Claudia Múnera, for the video art El Bosque Púrpura, exhibited at the Museo de Arte Moderno de Medellín in the exhibition Flowers for Ethel Gilmour, held in 2010. The live session was interpreted in the artist's workshop, in August 2010 for Eat Rain, a side project of two of the members of Encisos After rain, Edwin Vélez and Jader Cartagena. The fragments included were not used or were used in another context by the video artist. In this work, these fragments are mixed with the intention of creating an acousmatic landscape, based on some moments in the life of the artist Ethel Gilmour. This work is designed to be performed in a live session of approximately 20 minutes in a partially dark room. White balloons, which ascend very slowly, reflect fragments of a video projection with digital interventions on photographs and works by the artist.
