“Simple: Un lenguaje de programación en español para artistas y diseñadores”
José David Cuartas (Colombia)
It is a workshop designed especially for people with little or no knowledge in programming, in which basic notions of creative programming will be given using a new programming language in Spanish called Simple, which facilitates the creation of interactive applications on computers with Windows, MacOS or GNU-Linux, and additionally allows the generation of interactive web pages, using the same code.
That is to say, Simple allows you to create applications for two platforms: both for Web and desktop environments. This project arose in response to the need for a creative programming language in Spanish language that was simple, intuitive and easy to use.
It is licensed as open source software and has been under development since 2021 inside station 5 of the Inmedia laboratory, at the Universidad del Valle, Cali, Colombia.
