Ricardo de Armas

Acousmatic creator, cellist and sound artist. He studied in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Spain. He is a graduate of the Conservatorio Provincial J.J.Castro, Buenos Aires and is currently pursuing a postgraduate degree in Sound Art at the Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero. His work is based on procedures such as intervention, appropriation, quotation and resignification. Parallel to his activity as a composer, Ricardo de Armas has been cellist of the Orquesta Sinfónica Provincial de Bahía Blanca since 1988. His works have been awarded and programmed in the most important festivals of electroacoustic music and have been recorded by the CMMAS label, Mexican Center for Music and Sonic Arts and the UNTREF label. He is founder and General Coordinator of the Bahía[in]sonora Cycle.
