Retina Latina is a digital platform to watch Latin American cinema, public and free access for citizens of Latin America and the Caribbean. In its implementation it was supported by the Inter-American Development Bank-IDB and currently has the support of the International Fund for Cultural Diversity of UNESCO. The project is being developed by six film entities in the region: Bolivia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay and Colombia, under the coordination and technical secretariat of the Directorate of Audiovisual, Film and Interactive Media of the Ministry of Culture.
Users located in Latin America and the Caribbean, where most of the films in the catalog are available, must register by filling out a form or through their social media accounts (Facebook and Twitter). By registering, you can enjoy a diverse panorama of Latin American cinema free of charge. The site and the other original content offered (news, reviews, interviews, articles) can be accessed without registration and from anywhere in the world. 8% of our catalog is openly available to the world, which has allowed us to internationalize Latin American cinema, reaching countries such as Germany, United States, Switzerland, Spain, France, which are part of the 40 countries that visit us the most.
