«Sound postcards: imaginaries and territory»

Carlos Mario Rodriguez Rodriguez & Johann Sebastián Alvarado Guatibonza (Colombia)

"Postales sonoras: imaginarios y territorio" was a creation laboratory that stimulated the generation and exchange of sound files virtually between inhabitants of the departments of Boyacá and Santander in Colombia.

To this end, the voices and sounds of the participants constructed a virtual narrative that addressed the subjective and social experience of the territory. In this way, the proposal was detached from visuality and focused on other ways of understanding and relating to the environment and its representations.

The interaction with the participants was based on four podcast episodes (Me, The House, The Others and The Landscape), where, in addition to contextualizing the subject, instructions and recommendations were given to elaborate the sound images and exchange them virtually. Hence the concept of "sound postcards", since the transit of the messages meant other relationships between the subjects, their imagery and their context.

At the end of the process, there is a sound repertoire that allows an understanding of the imaginary, as that which transits between the real, the ideal and the symbolic and social constructions.
