Paula Salas Mella

Visual artist, and teacher at the School of Art of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He studied a Master in Artistic Research at the University of Amsterdam and a Bachelor of Visual Arts at the Catholic University of Chile. He is currently studying a PhD in Territory, Space and Society at the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urbanism of the University of Chile. His research falls within the area of studies of the ways and experiences of inhabiting the territory, focusing on the production of space in community art practices in urban contexts in Chile. As a visual artist he makes group and personal works. Develop artistic research projects and community art works. Since 2012 he has been part of the Agencia de Borde collective, with whom he conducts artistic research on the cultural construction of the landscape.
Agencia de Borde is an art collective made up of María Rosario Montero, Paula Salas and Sebastián Melo. Its purpose is to understand from an interdisciplinary perspective the ways in which people, territory and technologies determine each other. His research is carried out collaboratively and seeks to reveal the power structures underlying contemporary notions of landscape. Using artistic practices as a medium and anthropology as a method, we research and produce visual works and publications. Currently Agencia de Borde works in Santiago de Chile.
