Oscar Santillan

He is a visual artist whose practice stems from a transdisciplinary approach that seeks to connect various scientific fields, cosmologies, and non-human perspectives to address the wondrous complexity and latent conflicts of our planet. Throughout his artistic practice, Santillán collaborates with scientists, software programmers, indigenous thinkers and anthropologists, science fiction writers, and biologists who investigate topics such as plant intelligence. 

Santillán has a Master's Degree in Sculpture from Virginia Commonwealth University (United States), and has carried out artistic residencies in Skowhegan (United States), the Ratti Foundation (Italy), the Delfina Foundation (United Kingdom) and the Astronomical Observatory. of Leiden (The Netherlands), among others. His work has been exhibited at the University Museum of Contemporary Art (CDMX), Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art (Rotterdam), Spazio Calderara (Milan) and Château La Borie (Solignac) among others.
