Work: " Cimas, conquistas y grietas" (Peaks, conquests and cracks).
Eva Marín critically reviews the scenario of the mountain landscape as a construction of the nationalist epic in Catalonia. She analyzes how the mountain space has been instrumentalized by politics, perpetuating archetypal representations of patriotic exaltation and domination typical of romanticism and renaissance. Marín reflects on how this uniform and idyllic vision leaves no room for other ways of looking at and representing the more complex and heterogeneous landscape.
From the autobiographical experience, she explores the tensions and distances between institutional instrumentalization and the experiences of the landscape through the practice of hiking, which she reviews from a vital and feminist point of view. Thus, Marín looks at how mountain peaks have also been the object of presentation of other, less patriotic and more emancipatory narratives.
