Mario Fernando Uribe, during the last 18 years has worked as an academic and design professional in areas such as information design, digital image, multimedia, animation, advertising and communication mediated by technology and design research. He has been a professor in Graphic Design, Advertising Communication and Social Communication; Postgraduate Professor in the specialization in Organizational Communication and Strategic Brand Communication in Digital Environments at the Universidad Autónoma de Occidente, Cali - Colombia. Researcher, member of the Research Group in Design, Mediation and Interaction (DMi): Director of the Design and Mediation line. Guest Professor in 2010 and 2011 at the Altos del Chavón School of Design (Dominican Republic), Parsons School of Design Affiliate, as part of the "International Lecturers" program.
At the University of Barcelona (2012 - 2013) she advanced her PhD research internship in Information Design and information visualization in the Department of Design, Faculty of Arts under the guidance of Professor Anna Calvera Saque. He is a PhD in Design and Creation from the University of Caldas, Manizales Colombia where he obtained a meritorious qualification for his thesis. The title of the thesis, "The design of information as a mediator between users and infrastructure, to improve communication efficiency in transport systems. Comparative study between the transport systems of the cities of Cali (Colombia) and Barcelona (Spain)». Director: Dr. Anna Calvera Saque, University of Barcelona. He is representative for Colombia of the International Institute for Information Design (IIID) and member of the Sign Design Society. He is also an academic peer of the National Accreditation Council (CNA) in Colombia. He is currently Director of the Graphic Communication Design program at the Universidad Autónoma de Occidente - Cali (Colombia).
