A student of Cinema, Electronic Arts and intermediality theories, he is a Ph.D Professor of Cinema, Photography and Television at the University of Roma Tre where, since 2003, he has taught Cinema, “Electronic Arts and theories of intermedialities”, “Analysis and interpretation of the film” and has curated numerous International Conferences. Since 1984 he has taught at numerous Italian and European Universities and has collaborated with Rai (Italian Radio Television) and Tsi (Italian-Swiss Television) Experimental Cultural programs.

From 1984 to 1996 he was Artistic Director of the VideoArt Festival of Locarno (CH) and from 1997 to 2001 at Arte e Comunicazione. The International Biennial of Electronic Arts of the multimedia publishing industry as well as curator in Europe of personal exhibitions by artists such as: Nam June Paik, Steina and Woody Vasulka, Robert Cahen, Gianni Toti, Mario Sasso, Adriana Amodei, Federica Marangoni, Alba D 'Urbano, Marianne Strapatasakis, Carlo Quartucci, Carla Tatò, Edison Studio among others. Author of numerous Scientific Conferences, the Torre del la Paz International Exhibition Project.

The strategies of art against the strategies of violence (2002-2014) and the European satellite channel «ArsTv Network», since 1989 he is President of the Kinema Cultural Association of Rome. He is a member of the faculty of the Doctorate (Ph.D.) “Landscapes of the Contemporary City”. Politics, Techniques and Visual Studies at Roma Tre University. Editor of the Immagini in Movimento (Exorma) book series.

Member of the Executive Committee of the Cinema Nuovo, Praxis, Imago magazines. Studi di cinema & media (University of RomaTre/University of Rome La Sapienza), publishes monographic editions of the historical magazine of the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia di Roma Bianco & Nero. He has published a collection of his theoretical essays (1976-2012) on the Cinema in its relations with the other arts in volume Kinema. Il cinema sulle tracce del cinema: dal film alle arti elettroniche, andata e ritorno, Exorma, Rome 2012, 2014, and the Edison Studio volume. Il silent film e l'elettronica in intermediale relationship, Exorma, Rome 2012, 2014; in collaboration with Stefania Parigi and Vito Zagarrio, he has also published the collection of essays Territori of Italian cinema. Production, dissemination, literacy, Forum, Udine 2013.
