Luis Szarán is a prominent Paraguayan musician, conductor, composer and musical researcher. He has performed directing symphonic and chamber organizations from America and Europe. He is principal conductor of the Symphony Orchestra of the City of Asunción (OSCA) and the Philomusic Orchestra of Asunción. He has premiered works of his own authorship in numerous international festivals and has obtained the National Music Prize awarded for the first time in Paraguay by the National Parliament in 1997.»
