The basement printing press
The printing house of the basement 2, is part of the results of the research project entitled: Printing and impressions in the National Library of Colombia: graphic, historical, patrimonial and aesthetic analysis of the clichés collection of the National Library of Colombia and of the publications in which they circulated (1930 – 1960), linked to the Image Studies Research Group, attached to the Faculty of Arts and Design of the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University, which was developed in agreement with the National Library of Colombia.
The working group was made up of professionals from different areas such as graphic design, literary studies, discourse analysis and visual arts. It also had the participation of students from the Research Incubator in Design Theory and History of the School of Design, Photography and Audiovisual Production of the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University.
The main objective of the project was: To analyze from the historical, aesthetic, patrimonial and graphic perspectives the collection of clichés found in the National Library of Colombia and the publications in which they circulated between 1930 and 1960, for which it was necessary to work with primary sources. , such as printing clichés, documentary sources, such as the periodicals in which the images of the metal pieces circulated, and sources from the relational core. The work presented at the Image Festival will present aspects related to the components that were considered in the first phase of the project, developed between 2015 and 2016, which focused on the collection, classification, cataloging, and analysis of the pieces. found.
