'Arte a 360 grados' is an organization based in the San Nicolás neighborhood of the municipality of San Pablo del Monte, Tlaxcala, Mexico. It emerged in 2008 as an independent and alternative organization, maintaining a project with a nomadic profile, which chooses spaces to generate social interaction through the relationship between community, art, science and technology. In this way, Arte a 360 Grados has a tendency towards the management and production of an art characterized by social interaction, which seeks to discover other possibilities for linking artistic practices and the community that hosts them.
Qualification: Community, art, science and technology. Reflections on artistic production and practice
Summary: It is intended to delineate a certain relationship on social-community action, the use of art, as its respective production (creation), in synergy with technology and science, to propose a possible resignification of the memory and cultural identity of a certain community, in this case, from a Nahua community (Cuauhtotoatla –San Pablo del Monte, Tlaxcala, Mexico-), as certain forms of artistic production and practice, which make it possible to find certain aesthetics of some own-community elements. Aesthetics that can help, in a second moment, to reinforce the reflection of the concrete collective situation.
We resume the altepetl (lit. Hill with water inside) as a town, community and even a neighborhood, as a socio-artistic space for the community. In this way, the altepetl becomes a space where interaction-relationship and social participation, as well as the respective subjective and collective knowledge-experiences flourish in the remembrance and reappropriation of the communal territory, in relation to artistic production and practice from/with the community itself. Thus, from such a socio-artistic space, processes of collective resignification and reappropriation as well as artistic creations that manifest a unique aesthetic of the sociocultural space can result; In this case, these creations are anchored in the art of the new media and its relationship with different knowledge, which can also be thought of as an art with a transdisciplinary approach.
