He joined the FARC in 2007 where he served as squad leader and political secretary. Within the framework of the peace agreements, he received training in design and photography to work as a territorial correspondent for Nueva Colombia Noticias. He formed the communication team of the Territorial Space for Training and Reincorporation of Ituango in the village of Santa Lucía (Antioquia). It currently forms the Café Paramillo cooperative.
