Jesus Moreno
Trained as a sculptor at the EAV "Cristóbal Rojas" and at the IUESAP "Armando Reverón", he has studied arts in Venezuela, Spain and Colombia.
In 2012 he received a postgraduate degree in sound art from the University of Barcelona in Catalonia, Spain and in 2017 he obtained a Master's degree in artistic education from the National University of Colombia. In 1999 he received first prize in the 8th national poetry contest for high school students from the JA Pérez Bonalde House of Poetry, in a tribute edition to Rafael Cadenas.
He obtained honorable mention in 2007 in the “Aguas de Mayo” Poetry Contest and in the “José Rafael Muñoz” Narrative Contest, convened by the Casa de las Letras Andrés Bello, in Caracas, Venezuela. In 2018 his work was published as a finalist in the short story contest for the anthology "We are all immigrants" from the Benma publishing house in Puebla, Mexico.
He was recognized in 2013 with the "Emerging Artist" award by the Association of Art Critics (AICA) Venezuela chapter. In 2018 he presented his most recent individual exhibition; “I/O” at Espacio Monitor, (Caracas, Venezuela) and received second prize in the X short story literary contest “El Brasil de los sueños” from the Brasil Colombia Institute (IBRACO) in honor of Monteiro Lobato. In 2020, he received the third prize in the "Paper Transits" contest from the Universidad de los Andes (Venezuela). He has worked as a teacher of sound sculpture in the master's degree in sound art at the Antonio Nariño University. Lives and works between Colombia and Spain since 2013.
