Isabelle Choiniere
International artist, researcher, author and teacher of new contemporary performative practices, Isabelle Choinière has a PhD. (2015) from Planetary Collegium, Center for Advanced Research in the Integrative Arts (CAiiA), University of Plymouth (UK). This program has been awarded the 2011 World University Forum Award for Best Practices in Higher Education.
Her transdisciplinary and integrative research looks at the development of new emerging models of performativity with technology and alternative dance/performance approaches that engage somatics. His research creations to date include Communion, Le partage des peaux II (1994-1999); La démence des anges, La mue de l'ange (1999-2005); Meat Paradox (2005-2010); Waves of Meat (2013); and Fase # 5 (2016‒), productions that have toured Europe, Latin America, and North America at major festivals, biennials, and art institutions. They have also been known as case studies for research groups at universities around the world since 1994. He was also the recipient of the 2014 Desjardins Recognition Award for his innovative work and remarkable career.
