Masies imaginades is a commentary in the form of artistic experimentation that wants to highlight the ideology and the condition of cultural artifact of the Estudi de la Masia Catalana. A careful selection of photographs, extracted from the Estudi's collection held by the Centre Excursionista de Catalunya and with the intention of accentuating the class bias of the work, serves as the basis for the training of a neural network that generates an alternative imaginary. The result shows us images aesthetically halfway between rudimentary techniques of photography and engraving. Their lack of mimetic verisimilitude and rigorous sense of perspective detract from their documentary effectiveness to make way for an imaginary of ancestral fantasy.
