German Franco Diez
Germán Franco is director of the Ático Center of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Bogotá, a film and television producer from the National University of Colombia, a Master's Degree in History from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, researcher and university professor in various fields of communication, author of the book on cultural history of cinema «Looking only at the earth. Cinema and spectator society in Medellín, 1900-1930». He has scriptwriting studies in Cuba and non-formal education in Israel, among others.
He has been the director and manager of cultural television series and important social communication projects. From the Ministry of Culture, he led the creation of public policies for cultural communication, communication for inclusion, children's television, cultural journalism and digital culture. He has held, among others, the following positions: deputy director of the Centro Ático of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, director of communications for the Ministry of Culture of Colombia (2007 to 2013), head of Audiovisuals at the University of Antioquia (2004-2007), director of the award-winning television series ¿Muchachos a lo bien¿ and communications coordinator of the Social Foundation (1992-2003), defender of the Teleantioquia viewer (2004-2006), journalist (1989 and 1990), communication advisor for the Strategic Plan of Antioquia and Visión Antioquia Siglo XXI.
Among the awards received are the Prix Jeunesse award for children's television, four India Catalina awards, a nomination for the Japan Prize and the CEECORP Colombian Center for Public Relations Award for social responsibility 2004.
