Felipe Arturo is an architect and artist born in Bogotá in 1979. His practice takes elements from a variety of fields in the proximities of urbanism, architecture, history of the city and the relationship between art, politics, history, geography and economy. His works and projects are mainly sculptures, installations and videos based on concepts such as structure, sequence and matter.
Arturo's work is strongly influenced by vernacular architectures and construction techniques that reflect processes of assimilation and resistance in colonization processes.he has participated in exhibitions such as Nuevos Nombres at the Luis Angel Arango Library in Bogotá in 2005, The Happiness of Objects at the Sculpture Center in New York in 2007, Mientras Sea Posible at the Casa de América in Madrid in 2010 or the Bienal do Arte Naif in Piracicaba, Sao Paulo in 2012.
