Extractions. Travel in a state of crisis

Sara Montoya Sepulveda / Colombia
This work can be seen as the portrait of a crisis. About those moments when life is turned around and everything that is seen, felt and thought about acquires a particular tone, perhaps dark, or at least chaotic. It can be seen as a journey, a path that serves as a rite of passage, even though it seems to be circling in the same place all the time. It is, in any case, a diary. Very personal, very subjective, born from the primary drive to express, extract something that is inside and is looking for a way out.
I wanted to collect fragments of that process lived through three years, where the emotional crisis found a constant echo in economic, environmental, world or personal crises of any kind. I assumed the elaboration of a degree work focused on the audiovisual and autobiographical exercise as a catalyst for all the searches associated with this critical state.
The tangle of my concerns and materials found the best accommodated reflection in the structure and logic of Internet-based hypertext. I dare to call it a journal-installation. Fragments of a creative process and life story that ended up being almost the same thing.
