On October 17, 2019, the Chilean Biennial of Medial Arts opened its program at the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes. On October 18, a social movement began in Chile that resulted in a radical transformation of its political, economic and cultural configuration. The works presented at the biennial were inevitably coupled to the event, and served as witnesses to this condition. Grouped around the notion of The Fourth World, the curatorship was developed in conjunction with Catalina Valdes, and at the National Museum of Fine Arts we explored The Third Landscape, a manifesto by the gardener Gilles Clement, which invited us to stop our advance on the territories, to abandon the idea of nature as a consumer and extractable good, and to forestry ourselves to restore our context on earth.
