El constructor de elección, presents through a video, an analysis of the Colombian television product, specifically news, as visual-sound communication, focusing on the issue of government elections in different cities of Colombia. In the present video sequence, the image is posed on the border between figuration and abstraction. The video fragments that make up this sequence are part of a news archive broadcast by Colombian television channels. The video poses a variation and
reuse of news material with the intention of offering an alternative in a new way of reading.
The intention of the piece The builder of choice starts from the action of approaching something until you see what it is. The piece questions certain limits of the news discourse through the suppression of common sound, and fictionalizing the news scene through the language of silent cinema, which at the time operated in this way due to purely technical impediments, not precisely by choice.
