The delicacy of living beings (in general), of us humans (in particular), and of the systems we have been building over millennia, becomes evident when, abruptly, the usual and traditional reality is transformed and collapses. There are individual and collective consequences when the system we trust stops behaving as we wish.

As we perceive in these pandemic times, traditional disaster management approaches are not sufficient to deal with the current problems and multiple growing risks. We live in a world that is reaching a tipping point, where the balance between a healthy environment, the energy our society needs to maintain or improve its normal lifestyle, and the world's interconnected economies may rapidly shift from a delicate equilibrium to a completely new reality in which imbalance would be the norm, and humans would have to be more creative than ever to survive.

New forms of collaboration are needed to inspire people and organizations to link knowledge with action. Artists could inspire new explorations and contribute innovative perspectives and critical thinking on how to actively engage to help solve some of our major challenges, such as the growing environmental crisis. We need to develop creative ways to facilitate a paradigm shift towards a sustainable tomorrow.
