Doctor of music from the University of Montreal specializing in contemporary music under the direction of the Canadian flutist Lise Daoust. Recognized for his showiness and discipline, he has been awarded scholarships for excellence throughout his training, awarded by the Faculty of Music and the Faculty of Higher and Postdoctoral Studies of the University of Montreal.
Thanks to his knowledge of the new flute writing techniques of the 20th and 21st centuries and his virtuosity and versatility in interpreting this repertoire, composers of different origins have dedicated their works to him, premiering them in large venues around the world.
Frequently invited to play with the Montreal contemporary music ensemble “La Machine” and with the NEM “Nouvel Ensemble de Musique Moderne”, one of the most important contemporary music ensembles in North America. Regularly invited to play in important venues in Colombia, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Argentina, Canada, Germany and France thanks to his high musical and artistic level and his consolidation as a soloist and chamber musician.
His artistic activity has been combined with teaching, being flute professor at l'École des jeunes and professor at the Faculty of Music at the University of Montreal between 2010 and 2014. Tenured professor of the flute chair at the University of Caldas-Colombia since 2007 and of the Batuta Caldas Foundation between 1999 and 2009. Director of the Department of Music at the University of Caldas between 2008 and 2009.
