Design the End of the World

Workshop focused on exploring apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic scenarios through speculative design, as a tool to imagine alternative futures and explore their social, cultural and political implications. Using artificial intelligence, images of the results of these future scenarios will be generated, allowing participants to visualize and discuss the potential consequences of their design decisions. The objective of the workshop is to encourage creativity and critical thinking in relation to the possible consequences of our actions present in society and in the environment. Participants are expected to explore how the world could change in the future, how our current decisions could affect future generations and how the role of design in these scenarios. In this sense, the workshop is considered as an instance to reflect on the future of humanity and the impact of design on the planet. In addition, it offers an introduction to the area of speculative design and the use of digital tools, based on artificial intelligence, to generate images and visual representations of future scenarios.
