The authors constitute a mixed group of undergraduate professors and post-graduation students from the Department of Arts and Design of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). Teachers in the contexts of the teaching of Arts in Basic Education, Graduation in Design and Post-Graduation in Design, assume a position focused on Social and participatory Design.
Cynthia Macedo Dias He is a bacharel in Social Communication – Jornalismo e Cinema, specialist in Design in Literature, master and doctor in Design at PUC-Rio. He works at the Escola Politécnica de Saúde Joaquim Venâncio (EPSJV / Fiocruz) giving Audiovisual classes and developing analog games on health with students.
Maria Julia Nunes He is a Master and Bachelor of Design and Doctor of Design at PUC-Rio. He works professionally as a designer, musician and music teacher. His field of research encompasses multimodal formative processes in formal teaching-learning contexts, with an emphasis on methodologies and tools for discursive inclusion.
Nathalia Sá Cavalcante He graduated, master's degree and doctorate in Design by PUC-Rio and specialization in History of Art and Architecture in Brazil by Dept. of History of PUC-Rio. She works as a book illustrator and as a teacher at the Graduation in Design at PUC-Rio. Author of Passarinhando, picture book for children, distributed to public libraries in Brazil through the National School Library Program (PNBE – Editora Rocco 2010). Research on the relationship between design and illustration as Graphic Design.
Joao Victor Correia de Melo He graduated in Industrial Design from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2007), and is a Mestre and Doctor in Design from PUC-Rio. Professor of the Department of Arts and Design of PUC-Rio and researcher of the Laboratory of Research in Free Design of PUC-Rio. He is a founding partner of the company Maré, where he produces low-impact watches, with materials such as Madeira, Jeans and aluminum by means of digital manufacturing.
jackeline He is Master of Letters (PUC-Rio) and Doctor of Education (USP). Acts as Director of the Department of Arts & Design of PUC-Rio. She created and coordinates the Laboratório Linguagem, Interação e Construção de Sentidos-Design, of which Maria Júlia and Cynthia are researchers. Develop research on the design of the service of education inserted in the right Human Sustainability. It guides research that reflects on Design as a builder and co-author of social meanings. Atua in the training of designer and educator for inclusion focused on active methodologies, participatory spaces of teaching-learning, pedagogy of multiliteracies, design in partnership and gamification of teaching-learning practices.
