De la ambición humana-Demian Schopf

Of human ambition

Demian Schopf

Chile

The lecture is about the work in progress De la ambición Humana. This work is derived from the works Máquina Condor 1.0 (2006), Máquina Condor 3.0 (2012) and Máquina Condor 4.0 (2016). That implies that it should be mentioned and briefly described. Afterwards, the Human Ambition project (2022-in progress) will be read. The reading will be commented and will involve questions to the public in order to ensure a progressive understanding of the algorithm that constitutes it. The works in the Maquina Condor "Condor Machine" series work with the first stanza of Luis de Góngora's poem De la ambición humana (1628), correlating economy, war and autopsy by inspecting newspaper reports and the values (in dollars) of the currencies where Operation Condor took place, a plan orchestrated by the dictatorships of Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Bolivia to detain dissidents in that vast territory. Subsequently, currencies from former colonies and their respective colonizers were added. De la ambición humana adds to these operations the "themes" of hunger, disease and death (already present in the figure of the autopsy). The algorithm is much more complex as it includes data from various stocks, natural resources, climate data and others.
