Talk: From spaces of silence to spaces of creation – Libraries and Labs
«Times have changed and demand changes in spaces. Thus, vital sites for the social fabric of populations – both urban and rural – such as public libraries have gone from being fixed, vertical spaces for book archives to hybrid spaces, more horizontal and attentive to digital flows. From spaces of silence they have changed to spaces of creation. But this should not be understood as a contradiction with the original purpose of libraries or a contrast between the old and the new, between the analog and the digital, between the already established book culture and the effects of new technologies.» Luis Fernando Medina.
