«Dance and (in)Virtual Reality: dancer and audience as co-creators of a dance»

Ivani Santana (Brazil)

Dance has been related to electronic and digital devices since the last century, proposing different forms of configuration and interaction between the work and the audience.

In this communication, we will address a brief history of the creative and technological demands of this course to understand the potential of virtual reality to expand important aspects of dance, such as the relationship between the dancer and his audience.

In the example of the virtual reality ECOS (by Ivani Santana and Daniel Argente), the audience not only contemplates and interacts, but now it is the audience that becomes co-creators of both the environment and the dance that can take place there.
